Hi, I’m Daniel.
I bring events together.
An event manager, designer and practical problem-solver. I connect the people, planning and technology behind your event.
I’ve always liked
working things out.
I started in graphic design in 1994 and moved into events in 1996. Along the way, I worked as an entertainer, choreographing and putting shows together for venues around Australia. I also worked as a DJ while at university.
That mix of creativity and live performance eventually led me into programming for event software. I found a knack for user interface and user experience design—reworking systems so clients could understand and use them more easily.
Moving into onsite work brought it all together. I was on the ground solving problems, learning the AV equipment and terminology, and connecting the technical details with what organisers and speakers needed.
Experience across events,
design and technology.
Event management
I hold a Diploma in Event Management from Torrens University, where I topped my class. My work spans planning, platforms, supplier liaison, communications and practical event delivery.
Design & teaching
I’ve taught graphic design at the Australian Institute of Creative Arts and Dreamworks Design College. That experience shapes how I explain ideas, brief teams and make complex information easier to understand.
People first.
Practical solutions.
Listen first.
Start with your event, your audience and the people already involved. Agree on where I can help and what a successful outcome looks like.
Make things clear.
Translate technical requirements into practical decisions. Bring responsibilities, supplier discussions and the next steps together so everyone knows where they stand.
Prepare and test.
Work through site layouts, registration systems, presentations, run sheets and the AV environment before delivery. Give the team a clearer picture of how things will work.
Stay hands-on.
Support the agreed role onsite or virtually, help resolve issues and keep communication flowing between organisers, speakers and suppliers. Follow through after the event, too.
A few examples of my work.
Every event needs a different combination of support. These projects show how I work alongside organisers and their teams.
MMIRA · Brisbane
Support from beginning to end: registration and abstract systems, branding, the website and event app, communications, presentations, site layouts, proceedings and surveys.
Intersekt · Melbourne
AV liaison, digital signage, testing, run sheets, print production and supplier layouts. Reviewing AV quotes and requirements helped save the committee nearly $40,000.
IQA · Gold Coast
Technical liaison between speakers, the committee and AV team, alongside presentation adjustments, registration desk printers and computer connections.
The whole event.
Or the part you need.
