The role

Connect requirements,
suppliers and delivery.

At Intersekt, I was the main onsite liaison with the AV team and the first person to troubleshoot problems as they arose. I also looked after the digital signage, making sure the signs appeared correctly.

The role extended into preparation and production: reviewing AV requirements, testing environments, supplying run sheets, checking print files and helping organisers and suppliers understand the layouts.

Independent quote consultancy

Ask what is included.
Confirm what is needed.

I reviewed the AV quotes and provided feedback on the requirements. That meant questioning the quoted items, discussing what was actually included and checking those details against the event’s needs.

This review helped save the committee nearly $40,000 in AV costs.

The work centred on clear requirements and informed supplier discussions, so the committee could understand the proposal and make practical decisions.

Before the event

Help the team see
how it would come together.

Site inspections & room mockups

Attended site inspections to check how components would be set up. Provided mockups so organisers could see room layouts and exhibitor placement.

Supplier floorplans

Prepared plans showing activation and furniture locations, including the photobooth, charging station, coffee carts, ice cream cart, exhibition furniture and pixel totems.

AV testing & run sheets

Tested environments with the AV team to check the elements were working, and provided run sheets to guide delivery.

Print & signage production

Press-checked client-supplied print files and managed exhibition media wall printing and event signage.

On the ground

A practical first point
for technical issues.

During the festival, I oversaw the digital signage, liaised with the AV team and was first to troubleshoot onsite problems. Keeping that communication close helped connect the organisers’ needs with the suppliers carrying out the work.

I also reported back to the client on each day’s outcomes, keeping the event team informed as delivery progressed.

What this project shows

Preparation and problem-solving
belong together.

The AV quote review, floorplans, production checks and testing were all part of getting the practical details ready. Onsite liaison then carried that understanding into the live event.

It is the kind of support I bring to organisers: someone who can discuss the technical requirements, understand the broader event and stay hands-on when an issue needs attention.
